Six steps to a documented rack
The in-app first-visit tutorial points to these controls directly, and the Help button lets you replay it whenever needed.

Start with projects and racks
Create a project for a client, room, or installation phase. Add multiple racks to one project and switch between them from the rack tabs.

Set the rack size
Select the U rating above the rack, enter a height from 4U to 48U, and confirm. RackLab checks that existing equipment still fits before reducing the height.

Add and arrange equipment
Search the library or use AI equipment search, then drag devices into position. Double-click an empty U to quickly add equipment, blanks, vents, or a shelf.

Record complete device details
Select rack equipment or its schedule row to edit names, models, serials, asset data, notes, network assignments, PDU outlets, wattage, and heat load.

Document shelf-mounted devices
Add a shelf, open its details, and list multiple devices with quantity, part number, serial, network, power, watts, and notes for each item.

Review and export
Use the Rack Schedule beside the rack to check every item. Saved equipment and shelf-device information is carried into printable project documentation.
